...Once upon a time, there was 1300 pigs. And they all needed to go pee. And so they went in one restroom. And the restroom was so small even the pigs needed to go on top of each other. And so they all pooped on piggies head. And peed. And Eli sat on top of all of them. And he pooped on all single pig. And so they waited in line, so they couldn't wait. And so they pooped in the line. And then everybody didn't need to go poo poo anymore or pee. And so they all came into the backyard. And do there was this big monster that took all the piggies away, with only zero hands. And so he got them with his net. He only could get 25 pigs at the same time with his net. And so everybody said, AH, and then Super Alex came. And beated the monster up. And nobody could beat the monster up without Super Alex.
So i was talking to my friend Jordy about this new band PACIFIKA (www.pacifikaonline.com) that i fell in love with, cos i picked up their cd at Universal. And i found out they were playing here in LA, at the Hollywood Bowl. Coincidentally, they were opening for Fiest as well. (So really i was there to see Pacifika)
We got Garden Box seats for the show on Sunday!
Jordy, Jessica, Sara Jo and me.
We were so close to the front that it was clearer watching the stage than to try to see the huge side screens.
I've never been up so close before.
Awesome.
So now i've been all the way in the back ($7 tickets), in the middle ($25) and now here (easily a coupla hundreds, but it was ahem, free)
It has been hot in LA and i was already thinking twice about wearing jeans to the outdoor concert.
BUT, sigh, i should have guessed tat it'd be colder here at night. As it got later in the evening, i was the only one without some sort of jacket.Regret.
Pacifika is the multi-talented Silvana Kane, a Peruvian born singer, re-formed pop sensation (West End Girls), and accomplished actress with a love of flamenco, electronica, and textured percussion; Adam Popowitz a Canadian bred guitarist adept at new wave, classical, and pop, and a skiled producer responsible for a catalogue that includes indie rock and Armenian folk music; and Toby Peter, a dub wise basist born in Canada and raised in Barbados, explorer of jazz, hip-hop, metal and Caribbean grooves.
I was new to her and the band, but was pleasantly presented with a spectacular James Brown funkadelic performance!
Feist
I've never been to a Feist concert before.
So i didn't have any expectations. I mean, i do know some of her songs, but didn't expect a visually spectacular show!
Apparently, Feist is big on the visuals at her shows, very artsy.
Throughout the show, she had these 2 ladies in the back playing around with shapes shown on a projector off the backdrop. Awesome cool stuff.
And here's another interesting story for the night....
So, we were seated so close to the front, we were almost dead certain we'd see a celebrity somehow.
There were people who LOOKED like they could be celebs, with all their funky hairdos and Gigantic white shades. But no. We didn't see any that night. Strange.
Then this guy and girl sat in the box next to me.Recognise him from these angles?
Throughout the night, there were more and more people coming up to the guy saying "Hi! I just wanted to say i am a big fan....", and people from across the booths taking paparazzi shots of him....
No clue? I knew who he was after a while.
I couldn't recognise him because he DIDN'T have his Pink hair.
I was sitting next to famous gossip columnist
PEREZ HILTON.
I had brought my shaker with me, cos duh, it was Pacifika, how was a drummer supposed to sit in the audience and not feel like he should be jamming along with a shaker.
Perez was laughing that i brought it and soon, his friend next to him bought him a shaker too.
And for the night, we were an egg shaker duo team.
And we danced.....in an awkward random "when no one else is dancing and were staring at us hoping we would sit down soon" kind of way...
Ok ok, i hear you. Everyone tells me they don't know what i am doing in LA. But i really don't have the habit of blogging. But ooooooookkkkkkk... I'll blog again.
Prior to the Simpsons movie, Fox and 7-11 have teamed up to totally revamp 7-11 stores to completely look like a Kwik-E-Mart just like in the Simpsons TV Show. Sadly only 12 of these stores all around the world were "pimped-out", and not surprisingly, all 12 are here in the US.
Read more about the locations of where the Kwik-E-Marts are.

Me and a few friends visited the one in Burbank (we chose that one cos it was closest to NBC studios, where we were part of the audience for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno). And here are some pictures..
Lots of effort was put in to make even the insides resemble a Kwik-E-Mart!
And of cos, people of Springfield happened to be there too....
It was funny they made sure that every of these 12 stores had actual Hindi speaking assistants behind the counter. No, they wont say "Dank Yew Gum Again" It was so crowded that they had security guards outsidethe door, limiting people into the store, like it was some Disneyland ride.
Of cos they were selling stuff u see in the show!
The Buzz Cola . "Twice the sugar, twice the caffeine".
School's been soo crazy, we all needed a break. So me, Randall and Paulina went to Universal Studios! It was cold, but, fun and best of all, EMPTY! on a weekday. Randall in this video didn't let go of the dollar bill for the bird at the Animal Actors show.
Sigh, it's been a grueling start of the semester. Schoolwork's pretty crazy but i'm hanging in there. I've moved into my new place, and totally love it. And already, all my friends are popping over for random (and very frequent) parties! I love it! So a bunch of my friends come over and then realised that Randall had cut his own hair over the sink, and left the hair all over the sink. So jenny and paulina thought they'd have some ...fun.
It's been a crazy 2 weeks since i came back. Moving in to a place and then moving out again and then moving in, and then looking for furniture and then assembling it and then cleaning up the apartment and all that while helping out in orientation and stuff. Sigh. I'll post more frequently again some time.
Born in Singapore, lives in LA.
I've always felt the country was too small to be stuck in for the rest of my life.
My ridiculous passion for music landed me in Los Angeles to pursue my music career.
God played a huge part in it as well.
